The Kremlin has responded to ongoing rumors and speculation regarding the health of Russian President Vladimir Putin, dismissing recent reports of a cardiac arrest.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, various reports have circulated, suggesting that Putin may be grappling with multiple health issues, including cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and even the use of body doubles.
The latest claims, originating from a Telegram channel known as General SVR, were widely reported by media outlets but have been promptly refuted by Russian officials.
General SVR, a Telegram channel previously known for discussing Putin’s health, posted information on Monday suggesting that the Russian president had suffered a cardiac arrest and had to be renewed.
The report claimed that Putin was now in a specially equipped room at his residence, receiving constant medical supervision.
It further suggested that Putin’s inner circle was deeply concerned, with doctors expressing doubts about his long-term prognosis.
However, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, vehemently denied these claims, labeling them as “complete hoaxes.” Peskov also rebuffed allegations of using body doubles, terming them “absurd and false.”
Despite official statements, speculations about Putin’s health are expected to persist. In July 2022, Newsweek reported that a classified US intelligence document indicated Putin had undergone cancer treatment earlier that year.

Allegations of Medical Assistance: Putin’s Trips to Sochi Under Scrutiny

Independent Russian media outlet Proekt Media has also alleged that Putin was accompanied by doctors, including a thyroid cancer surgeon, during trips to his Sochi residence between 2016 and 2019.
Additionally, they suggested that he may have undergone surgery in November 2016.
The issue of body doubles continues to be a subject of discussion. General SVR has repeatedly claimed that Putin employs body doubles to fulfill official duties, though it has not presented concrete evidence to support this or other allegations.
Recently, when footage of Putin arriving at Beijing Capital International Airport surfaced, it only fueled further speculation and conspiracy theories regarding using body doubles.
As the world closely monitors the situation surrounding President Putin’s health, the Kremlin’s efforts to dispel rumors and provide reassurances are met with a skeptical international audience.
The enigma of Russia’s leader continues to be a topic of debate, with questions regarding his health and the authenticity of his public appearances still needing to be answered.
