Park Ranger Enforces Governor’s Public Health Mandate

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has more than the State Police available to enforce her COVID-19 shutdown restrictions. An Eagle Nest Lake state park ranger turned away a tourist from Colorado and his wife last week. The Governor’s restrictions include not allowing any out of state visitors into state parks. KRQE reported yesterday that the Governor’s office praised the park ranger’s professional handling of the non-compliant out of state tourist’s attempt to escalate the situation. Video of the occurrence shows when the tourist notes he and his wife aren’t infected, and that the park is in the wide open spaces. The tourist mentions that his wife is from Russia saying, “This is what they do in eastern Europe communist countries.”
