NM Medical Marijuana Sales Almost Double Since December

Medical marijuana sales in New Mexico are up nearly double since December. KRQE reported yesterday that state cannabis industry data also reveals an uptick in medical marijuana cards by those who had not renewed in years prior. Duke Rodriguez, who heads up Ultra Health, says the increase in demand is putting a strain on growers and has caused a price increase. Rodriguez says the rules approved by the state say growers should have a three-month supply on hand, but right now there is only enough to cover a 12-day time frame. He says the only way to get the prices down is for the state to expand the number of plants growers are allowed to cultivate.
