Law enforcement agencies in New York are stepping up their patrols during Speed Awareness Week. a campaign aimed at enforcing speeding laws and promoting road safety.
This initiative is funded by taxpayers through the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, ensuring that the necessary resources are available to make our roads safer for everyone.
In the previous year, the New York police issued nearly 80,000 citations during the Speed Awareness Week campaigns in June and August. These tickets included 28,000 for speeding, 2,700 for impaired driving, and 4,500 for distracted driving.
