New Mexico Tops for Pecans

New government data predicts New Mexico will be first in pecan production this season.

This week KRQE cites data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that says New Mexico producers are forecast to yield 97-million pounds of pecans in this year’s harvest. Georgia is next with a predicted 76-million pounds followed by Texas with 47-million pounds. Dona Ana County is the highest pecan producer in New Mexico.
