Migrant Shelters in Juarez Near Capacity

As the United States continues expelling some 200 migrants each day, shelters in Juarez are nearing capacity. Officials with groups operating the shelters say the COVID-19 pandemic has also made the situation worse because of capacity limits for shared spaces. They’re calling on the Biden administration to stop expelling vulnerable migrants. The city of Juarez announced earlier it would be converting Kiki Romero Sports arena into a shelter, though the work has yet to begin.
