March 1 Payout: Individuals Set to Receive $943 from Social Security – Find Out Who Qualifies

As February draws to a close, the Social Security Administration (SSA) gears up for its monthly disbursement to beneficiaries, covering retirees, survivors, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs.

The payment schedule is meticulously organized, with Supplemental Security Income payments initiated on the first day of each month. Subsequently, checks are dispatched on the third day to beneficiaries who commenced receiving payments before May 1997.

For those entitled to both Social Security benefits (retirees or survivors) and SSI, the SSI payment occurs on the first day, while the Social Security payment follows on the third day.

As February draws to a close, the Social Security Administration (SSA) gears up for its monthly disbursement to beneficiaries, covering retirees, survivors, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs.

The remaining Social Security checks for retirees, survivors, and SSDI recipients are systematically sent out on Wednesdays, contingent upon the birthdate of the beneficiaries:

  • Second Wednesday: Retirees born between the 1st and 10th
  • Third Wednesday: Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th
  • Fourth Wednesday: Retirees born between the 21st and 31st

Notably, if any payment date coincides with a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, the disbursement is advanced to the preceding business day.

March 1 marks a significant date in accordance with the SSA schedule, as SSI recipient payments are slated for release on that day. Simultaneously, beneficiaries who initiated payments before May 1997, scheduled for the 3rd, will also receive their payments on March 1 due to the 3rd falling on a Sunday.

Remaining March payments will be distributed on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of the month:

  • March 13: Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th
  • March 20: Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th
  • March 27: Beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st

The method of payment, whether through direct deposit for those who shared bank details or by mail in a paper check, is contingent on the beneficiaries’ chosen mode, with paper checks requiring additional processing time.

This year’s average payments for retired workers have seen an increase, exceeding $1,900, according to the SSA. SSI benefits have also seen an uptick, reaching $943 for individuals and $1,415 for couples.
