Las Cruces man sentenced to 141 years in prison

A Las Cruces man has been sentenced to more than 14 decades in prison. The Las Cruces Sun News reports that Juan Villalobos-Diaz, 49, was given a 141-year sentence on Tuesday after a jury found him guilty of several counts, including raping two children. Villalobos-Diaz was originally charged with 13 felonies in 2016 related to the sexual assault of young girls between March 2004 and October 2016. He was also accused of shooting a girl and a boy in his care with a BB gun as a form of discipline. Court documents describe in graphic detail the abuse Villalobos-Diaz inflicted upon the three children, and at least one incident in which he physically assaulted his domestic partner.
