A grant from the state of New Mexico is helping Las Cruces pay for services provided to immigrants.
The city council accepted the two-hundred-50-thousand-dollar grant this Monday. Las Cruces council members have allotted nearly six-hundred-thousand-dollars of taxpayer money to cover the cost to house, transport, clothe and feed hundreds of asylum-seeking immigrants. New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced she’s back funding for the city to help reimburse its costs.
