House Bill For More Power To Insurance Exchange Goes To Senate

A move to broaden the state’s health insurance exchange is advancing in Santa Fe.  On Tuesday, lawmakers voted 44-23 to send House Bill 100 to the state Senate for its consideration.  HB 100 is aimed to address the potential repeal of the Affordable Care Act at the federal level.  The bill would give New Mexico’s health insurance exchange more power to dictate which insurance plans are sold through the exchange and how they’re sold.  Representative Micaela Lara Cadena says the goal “is to make sure every New Mexican has access to affordable, high-quality health care.”
