Investigators have reported that the department received multiple 911 calls at approximately 5 a.m. regarding a vehicle that was traveling in the wrong direction, heading south in the northbound lanes. The vehicle ended up crashing into another car, and the incident occurred just half a mile south of King Street.
The wrong-way driver received medical treatment at an area hospital after being transported by ambulance.
The identities of both drivers have not been disclosed.
This morning, authorities diverted traffic from the northbound side of the parkway at Ridge Street. They also closed off one lane of traffic on the southbound side to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
