Doctor Predicts NM to Reach Herd Immunity by September 2022

An Albuquerque doctor predicts New Mexico will attain COVID-19 herd immunity next fall. Presbyterian Hospital’s Doctor Jeff Salvon Harman says at the current rate of vaccinations, the state is at around eight-percent of the population being fully vaccinated. He says for herd immunity to be reached there needs to be 75-percent of a population to have been vaccinated. KOAT reported yesterday that at this rate, which amounts to around 24-hundred people getting the vaccine every day, it will take until September 24th, 2022 for the state to enter herd immunity.
