‘Black Panther’ Stuntwoman Carrie Bernans Critically Injured in Manhattan Hit-and-Run

Early Monday morning turned into a harrowing ordeal for renowned stuntwoman and actress Carrie Bernans when a reckless hit-and-run incident outside Chirp restaurant in Manhattan left her critically injured.

Following a collision caused by a driver fleeing police, the 29-year-old, renowned for her work in “Black Panther,” sustained severe injuries, including multiple broken bones and teeth.

Bernans underwent emergency surgery on Monday, as detailed in an Instagram update by her mother, Patricia.

Thankfully, Bernans’ young son was not present during the incident and her family safely accommodated him in a nearby hotel room.

The chaos unfolded after the NYPD responded to a distress call regarding a physical assault involving a 44-year-old male driver of a black Mercedes and his 34-year-old female passenger in the vicinity of 33rd Street and 6th Avenue.

Attempts by officers to de-escalate the situation failed, leading the driver to disregard orders and flee westbound on 33rd Street, eventually taking a dangerous route against traffic onto 7th Avenue.

In a series of reckless maneuvers, the Mercedes driver careened onto West 34th Street, striking multiple pedestrians and a food cart.

Shockingly, he continued mounting the sidewalk, causing further havoc by colliding with parked vehicles and injuring officers and the passenger in his own car.
