AG Sues Lea County Sheriff’s Office for not Enforcing Health Order

The New Mexico Attorney General is suing the Lea County Sheriff’s Office for refusing to enforce the governor’s public health order. The lawsuit accuses the department of requesting restaurants allow indoor dining, claiming that the Sheriff’s Office is showing the public that they don’t need to follow the rules. The department claims the governor’s ban on indoor dining is not in effect since the state Supreme Court has yet to rule on the issue.
