Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are still falling as summer ends, according to AAA Northeast.
Gas prices in Rhode Island have decreased by eight cents from the previous week. Currently, the average price stands at $3.14 per gallon, which is 23 cents lower compared to last month and 59 cents lower than the price recorded a year ago.
The average price of RI is also 13 cents lower than the national average.
The prices are continuing to drop because demand has fallen below expectations during the Labor Day period. In addition, there have been declines in both stock and commodity markets, which have also contributed to the decrease in prices.
