Rhode Island State Troopers conducted a series of traffic stops over the weekend, leading to the apprehension of several individuals for a range of offenses. These included driving without a license, robbery, arson, driving under the influence, shoplifting, obstruction, and receiving stolen goods.
On Sunday, September 8, at 10:07 a.m., troopers took Todd K. Moore, a 33-year-old resident of Providence, into custody. Moore had a bench warrant issued against him for not appearing in court regarding a charge of driving without a license. This marked his fourth or subsequent offense.
The police apprehended the suspect after pulling over a vehicle on Prairie Avenue.
At 11:53 a.m., Milton J. Thomas Jr., 54, of Pawtucket, found himself in trouble when he was arrested on two bench warrants. These warrants were issued due to his failure to appear for restitution payments related to charges of first-degree robbery and fourth-degree arson.
Thomas was stopped on Junction Street and then taken to the Adult Correctional Institution Intake Center.
Cristofer Sutuj Cavinal, a 43-year-old resident of Providence, was taken into custody at 10:54 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.
The arrest took place following a stop on Westminster Street.
Sutuj Cavinal was set free and entrusted to the care of a responsible adult until his arraignment.
At 3:54 p.m. in the afternoon, Matthew Fontaine, a 38-year-old resident of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, was apprehended on a shoplifting warrant after being pulled over on Roosvelt Avenue in Central Falls.
Troopers arrested Xavier L. Barros, a 22-year-old resident of Pawtucket, on Monday, Sept. 9, at 1:02 a.m., for his involvement in receiving stolen goods.
No additional information regarding Barros’s arrest was immediately disclosed.
Several individuals were processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and will face arraignment at the Sixth Division District Court on future dates.
The Rhode Island State Police are actively enforcing the law to prioritize public safety on the roads.
