Family & Children’s Counseling Services (FCCS) announced on Thursday that it has been granted a contract by New York State to enhance its operations as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).
FCCS has been awarded the CCBHC status, which demonstrates its compliance with the stringent criteria set by the state in terms of staffing, accessibility services, and accreditations. This achievement will enable FCCS to enhance the availability of mental health and substance abuse treatments and recovery services within the community. Moreover, it will facilitate greater access to these essential services for individuals in need, regardless of their health insurance status.
“This recognition allows us the opportunity to expand our programming and provide significantly more service to the region,” said Lisa Hoeschele, Executive Director and CEO of FCCS. “We are proud that New York State has faith in our ability to provide these increasingly important services.”
FCCS is one of the thirteen recently established CCBHCs in New York, with eight of them located in the Upstate region. It is a participant in the federal SAMHSA CCBHC Demonstration Program, receiving funding from the state’s Offices of Mental Health, Addiction Services and Supports, and the Department of Health.
