ChatGPT Gets a Voice: Now it Can Read Its Responses to You

OpenAI has unveiled a new feature for its ChatGPT platform, allowing users to have responses dictated audibly. This addition aims to cater to accessibility requirements and accommodate individuals engaged in multitasking or on-the-go activities.

The feature is seamlessly integrated into both the iOS and Android applications, as well as the web version of ChatGPT. ChatGPT’s New Audio Dictation Feature

However, this announcement arrives amidst significant legal turmoil surrounding OpenAI. Elon Musk, co-founder and former board member, has filed a lawsuit against the company, along with CEO Sam Altman and president Greg Brockman. Musk’s legal representatives argue that OpenAI has deviated from its original mission as an open-source nonprofit organization.

According to Musk’s lawyers, OpenAI has undergone a transformation into a closed-source entity, effectively operating as a subsidiary of a major technology corporation.

They allege that OpenAI’s pursuit of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is primarily geared towards maximizing profits for Microsoft, rather than serving the betterment of humanity. Notably, OpenAI and Microsoft have established a $10 billion partnership.

OpenAI’s Legal Saga and Technological Advancements

OpenAI has unveiled a new feature for its ChatGPT platform, allowing users to have responses dictated audibly.

As the legal proceedings unfold, OpenAI has yet to officially respond to the allegations. However, CEO Sam Altman has made enigmatic remarks on social media platforms, potentially alluding to the ongoing controversy.

In a cryptic tweet, Altman stated, “The hurricane turns faster and faster but it stays perfectly calm in the eye,” prompting speculation about the underlying implications.

Despite the legal challenges, OpenAI continues to advance its technological offerings, with the introduction of the audio response feature representing a notable enhancement to the ChatGPT platform.

Nevertheless, the unfolding legal saga underscores the complex intersection of artificial intelligence, corporate interests, and ethical considerations within the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
